Marocchino: the 5-minute recipe

Italy's tiny chocolate-espresso flirt, made for the moment your afternoon asks for better manners.

The Marocchino is small, glossy, and far more persuasive than it needs to be. Espresso meets cocoa and milk foam, and suddenly your kitchen feels like it has better lighting.

The story

Marocchino comes from Italy, where coffee is less errand and more punctuation. It is Italy's tiny chocolate-espresso flirt, a café glass with enough drama to turn an ordinary pause into something worth sitting down for. People love it because it feels indulgent without going full dessert. Cocoa brings the velvet, espresso brings the nerve, and milk foam softens the edges. It is quick, charming, and just a little vain, which is exactly why it works.

What you need

  • 1 Pascucci capsule
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder
  • 30 ml milk foam

Tools: Pascucci machine · small glass cup

How to make it

  1. Dust cocoa on the bottom of the glass.
  2. Pull the espresso over it.
  3. Cap with dense milk foam and one more dusting of cocoa.

Get it right

  • Dust the glass with cocoa before the espresso lands, so every sip carries that soft chocolate edge.
  • Pull the espresso fresh and pour it while lively; Marocchino rewards heat, crema, and a little theater.
  • Foam the milk glossy, not stiff, then spoon it gently so the layers stay charmingly distinct.

Make it with MORORA

This recipe sings with MORORA, brewed on the Pascucci Seaver machine. One capsule, one button, no barista required.

When to drink it

Enjoy a Marocchino in the late morning, after lunch, or whenever your day deserves a small velvet pause. Serve it in a clear glass, somewhere unhurried, with a buttery cookie or a square of dark chocolate and someone who appreciates a good little ritual.
