This machine and the coffee far exceeded my expectations. First of all, the machine is really well made and offers all kinds of choices that a much more expensive machine would have. The fact that you can adjust both the short and long espressos as well as the temperature is amazing for its cost. I didn't know what to expect from the coffee and I was pleasantly surprised. I used to work in the specialty coffee industry when it was just starting and I am a bit of a coffee snob. I was concerned about freshness but I can tell by the crema when brewing, that it is fresh. I own a vacuum package gadget, so once I open their bag which has been nitrogen flushed, I still vacuum package the unused coffee. I'm glad that they sent a variety of coffees so that I know which ones to reorder. I really like the Altura and the decaffeinated is terrific. I have suggested this machine and the coffee to several of my friends.
