Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso: the 5-minute recipe

The internet's favorite, done at home, with cold espresso, brown sugar, and a very satisfying shake.

This is the cold coffee that understands the assignment. Brown sugar brings the warmth, espresso brings the bite, and the shake makes it feel charmingly overqualified for your kitchen.

The story

Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso belongs to the modern coffee canon: part café ritual, part internet crush, fully built for home. It became beloved because it looks composed, tastes cozy, and asks for a good shake before it settles into the glass. Brown sugar brings warmth, espresso brings backbone, ice brings the clean snap. The result feels playful without losing its polish. It is the kind of drink people post, remake, and quietly perfect until the kitchen starts feeling like the best table in town.

What you need

  • 2 Pascucci capsules
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • 120 ml oat milk
  • Ice

Tools: Pascucci machine · cocktail shaker · tall glass

How to make it

  1. Shake the hot shots with brown sugar, cinnamon and ice.
  2. Pour into a tall glass over fresh ice.
  3. Top with oat milk. Ombre guaranteed.

Get it right

  • Shake the espresso and brown sugar while the coffee is still lively, so the sweetness folds in cleanly.
  • Add ice before pouring, then let the shaken espresso land cold, glossy, and ready for milk.
  • Finish with your preferred milk and serve right away, while the top is silky and the espresso still snaps.

Make it with PLACIDO DECA

This recipe sings with PLACIDO DECA, brewed on the Pascucci Seaver machine. One capsule, one button, no barista required.

When to drink it

Best when the afternoon starts bargaining with your attention span. Make it cold, pour it into a tall glass, and take it somewhere with light. It plays well with a buttery biscuit, a quiet playlist, or a friend who will absolutely ask for a sip.
